Chopta Tungnath Chandrashila & Deoriatal Winter Trek 2026 With SafarXpert

Have you ever dreamed of standing under live snowfall, surrounded by snow-clad Himalayan peaks and peaceful silence?
That’s exactly what happened when SafarXpert organized a private 3-day Chopta Tungnath Chandrashila and Deoriatal Winter Trek for a group of five adventurers from Dehradun.

This incredible journey turned into a lifetime memory — full of devotion, adventure, pahadi food, and the pure magic of Uttarakhand’s winter.

Day 1: Dehradun to Chopta – The Road to Snow Begins

The SafarXpert team, led by driver Vijay Kumar, started the journey early in the morning at 5:00 AM from Dehradun in a comfortable Kia Carens. The group’s excitement filled the air as they began their trip with Shiva bhajans, setting a peaceful spiritual tone.

Their first stop was Rishikesh, the Yoga Capital of the World. The group witnessed the golden sunrise reflecting on the holy Ganga — a calm beginning to their adventure.

By 8:30 AM, they reached Devprayag, the sacred confluence where Bhagirathi and Alaknanda meet to form River Ganga. For most travelers, this was their first time seeing the holy Sangam. With folded hands and smiling faces, they offered prayers, clicked photographs, and felt a divine connection.

Next came Dhari Devi Temple, one of Uttarakhand’s most powerful shakti peeths. After darshan, everyone took prasadam and received blessings for their safe journey.

On the way, they stopped at a local pahadi dhaba for breakfast — hot aloo paratha with chai and spicy chatni. Simple yet soulful, it added the local flavor to their mountain journey.

As the group continued toward Chopta, they admired waterfalls, pine forests, and snow-dusted peaks in the distance. The weather started turning cloudy — everyone secretly hoping for snow.

And then — nature blessed them!
By 2 PM, as they reached Sari village, light rain turned into soft snowfall, and the dream began. Within minutes, the entire road to Chopta was covered in white. Everyone screamed with joy, stepped out to feel the snow, clicked endless pictures, and thanked SafarXpert for making their live snowfall dream come true.

Live Snowfall

Due to heavy snow, the team parked near Chopta and checked into Chopta Camps, managed by Mr. Rakesh. The entire campsite was covered in 10–12 inches of snow, looking like a fairytale village.

Camp cook Mr. Sanjay Singh served pahadi Maggi and chai, and everyone enjoyed it while watching the snowfall. As the weather cleared, they played snow cricket, laughed, and watched a golden sunset from Chopta valley.

Pahadi Maggi

Dinner that night was warm and delicious — matar paneer, dal, rice, roti with pahadi ghee. After the meal, everyone gathered around the bonfire for music and laughter. Trek leader Ashish Negi gave a briefing about the next day’s Tungnath trek, and by 10 PM, all slept peacefully under the starlit Himalayan sky.

Day 2: Tungnath & Chandrashila Trek – Touching the Sky

The morning in Chopta was magical — sunlight shining on the snow, mist floating over the mountains, and the air filled with freshness. After a warm bed tea and breakfast (aloo paratha with chatni), the group packed for their big adventure — the Tungnath Trek.

Trek leader Ashish Negi provided proper trekking equipment — shoes, gloves, and sticks — to ensure safety. At 8 AM, the group began their climb from Chopta towards Tungnath Temple, the world’s highest Shiva temple.

Tungnath trek Path

The trek was mesmerizing yet challenging. Snow-covered trails made walking tough; some parts were slippery, and oxygen levels dropped slightly at higher altitudes. But under the motivation of Ashish Negi, everyone continued step by step.

After 4 hours of trekking, the group finally reached Tungnath Temple — beautifully covered in snow. Though the temple doors were closed, the energy of Lord Shiva could be felt deeply. Everyone offered silent prayers, took photos, and ate their packed breakfast while soaking in the serenity of the Himalayas.

Then, two members decided to continue further towards Chandrashila Peak — led by Ashish Negi. In just 45 minutes, they reached the top of Chandrashila, standing above the clouds at nearly 4,000 meters.

The view was breathtaking — a 360° Himalayan panorama of Chaukhamba, Trishul, Nanda Devi, Kedar Dome, and Bandarpoonch. It was a feeling beyond words — pure, powerful, and peaceful.

By afternoon, everyone returned safely to Chopta. The evening was spent relaxing at the campsite with hot tea, bonfire, and soulful pahadi music. Dinner was served early, and all five trekkers went to sleep with proud smiles — they had conquered the Himalayas.

Day 3: Deoriatal Lake Trek & Return to Dehradun

The final day began with a beautiful sunrise and a warm breakfast of sandwiches and chai. After checking out, the team drove to Sari village, the starting point of the Deoriatal Lake Trek.

The 3 km trail was easy yet scenic — surrounded by oak trees and snow patches. After about an hour of walking, the travelers reached Deoriatal Lake, one of Uttarakhand’s most picturesque spots.

The lake was partly frozen, reflecting snow-covered Himalayan peaks in its crystal-clear water. Everyone clicked pictures, played with snow, and sat in silence, admiring the peace of nature.

After trekking back to Sari, they enjoyed a home-style lunch of dal-chawal at a local dhaba — a simple and satisfying meal before heading back home.

Tungnath Valley

The return journey to Dehradun was filled with mountain views, rivers, and laughter. By 7 PM, the group reached Dehradun, tired but truly happy.

Before parting ways, they thanked SafarXpert, Mr. Rajesh Maithani, driver Vijay Kumar, and trek leader Ashish Negi for organizing such a safe, well-planned, and emotional journey.

“From live snowfall to mountain peaks, from Maggi in snow to prayers at Tungnath —
SafarXpert made every moment magical. Truly, Reel se Real tak!
